Kelley Sousa, a rising junior and journalism major at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, began working for NC-HCAP as the communications intern this summer.

Sousa is specializing in public relations within the UNC School of Journalism and Mass Communication and is also a social and economic justice and Hispanic studies double minor. She aspires to work for a large non-profit or advocacy group, perhaps in Washington, D.C.

As the communications intern, she is responsible for updating NC-HCAP’s various social media sites, sending out newsletters and documenting the stories of those involved in the organization’s programs and events. Sousa hopes to bring a personal touch to NC-HCAP by emphasizing the importance of their work in strengthening the health of our society and the diversity of our workforce.
