DW5B6826Kayla McLaughlin joined the NC-HCAP team in June of 2016. As the Pre-College outreach coordinator, she is responsible for planning, developing, and implementing all pre-college outreach initiatives and works with K-12 students, administrators, teachers, and community agencies in an effort to recruit and retain students in NC-HCAP enrichment activities and health professions training programs.

Before coming to NC-HCAP, Kayla worked as a high school English teacher in Guilford County as well as an English professor at Miller Motte Technical Institute. She has also served as a program volunteer and facilitator for The Queen’s Foundation for the past six years.

Kayla received a Bachelor’s degree in journalism & mass communications and a Master’s degree in English from North Carolina A&T State University.
