The students that participate in the Science Enrichment Preparation (S.E.P.) Program come from underrepresented, economically, and educationally disadvantaged backgrounds. These students have unique challenges that they face as students at four year institutions. The S.E.P. Program is designed to help facilitate the forward advancement of minority students academically, and prepare them for the rigors of graduate health professional programs. In a short, typewritten essay (not to exceed one page in length), please address the following: Why you are interested in the position of Program Assistant with the Science Enrichment Preparation (SEP) Program? What is your understanding of the unique issues that underrepresented minorities face at institutions of higher education? Why are you the ideal candidate for this position? What talents, skills, and abilities will you bring to this position that will enable you to be effective in mentoring and advising undergraduate students that are interested in pursuing a health career?
