Over the course of 31 years, Julian Earls has risen through
the ranks of NASA's Lewis Research Center in Cleveland, where
he began work as a health physicist in 1968, to become deputy
director for operations, responsible for a $1-billion dollar
budget and 4,500 civil-service and contract employees.

A much sought-after scholar, author, teacher, humanitarian,
athlete and orator, Earls is known around the country as "Renaissance
Man." Besides his scholarly pursuits in radiation physics,
environmental health and management development, Earls has
run more than 10,000 miles in the past five years, entering
and successfully completing 17 marathons, including the Boston
Marathon.
